Today we took a vocab quiz and worked on a worksheet for guided notes on the Present Progressive (new grammar) in Spanish.

11/6/17 Unit 2 Lesson 2 Day 4

Today students worked through a guided packet to review the uses of the reflexives in Spanish. Students are to study and be prepared for the vocabulary quiz tomorrow.

We went over demonstrative adjectives (found on page 100 of textbook) and practiced with activity 13 (Both writing and speaking). We also went over some cultural information related to the "Comparacion Cultural" box on page 96.

10/24/17 Unit 2 Lesson 2 Past Tense ER IR Regular Verbs

Students learned how to conjugate ER and IR regular verbs in the past tense to talk about what they did in the past. Activity 6 was recorded and turned into google classroom (See activity in textbook Pg 96 and google classroom assignment). Past tense verb conjugations found on page 95.

10/23/17 Unit 2 Lesson 1 day 1

Today students were given extra time to finish the test and we used peardeck.com to go over new vocab for the new unit lesson.

Homework: Students must copy the vocab list from page 109 into notebooks.

Students reviewed the past tense in class. Worksheet was given out for homework tonight.

10/13/17 Unit 1 Lesson 2 Day 5

Today we began going over Costa Rican culture, reading cultural information from pages 48 and 53-53 answering the questions on those pages (Students got worksheets for the questions on page 53). The questions are to be completed as well as the wordweb on on of the worksheets for homework.

10/11/17 Unit 1 Lesson 2 Day 4

Today we spent the day working on creating a list of 15 questions using the past tense for a speaking activity. Of the 15 questions created, 7 of them came from activity 14 of the textbook. We also began using 4 irregular past tense verbs, Ser/Ir, Dar, Hacer, and Ver. The information is found on page 70 of the textbooks.

10/10/17 Unit 1 Lesson 2 Day 3

Students were given notes on the regular past tense (Called Preterite) for regular AR verbs. The info is also found on page 65 of textbook. Student played a dice game to practice using it and also turned in Activities 5 and 6 from page 66 of textbook for a grade.

10/9/17 Unit 1 Lesson 2 Day 2

We practiced using the interrogative words found on page 64 of the textbook (add them into your notes/vocab lists). We also worked on activity 4 and a google classroom assignment. For the assignment, read page 10 of your workbook. The audio (Fuente 2) is attached in the google classroom assignment.

10/6/17 Unit 1 Lesson 2 Day 1

Students did activities 1 and 2 of textbook. We reviewed new vocabulary words and took a study check (mini-"quiz") designed to measure progress made in studying the vocabulary as well as went over pages 60-61 of textbook.

Students watched all 3 scenes of the telehistoria and used that information to do activities 17 and 18 (listening activities), Reviewed Direct and Indirect object pronouns, and had some conversation practice exercises.

9/20/17 Unit 1 Lesson 1 day 3

We are wrapping up the vocabulary for Lesson 1, we did several speaking activities and discussed the use of the words "Maje" "Tuanis" and "Pura Vida" in Costa Rican conversations. Students were told to finish the google assignment by Midnight Friday, there will be 30 minutes worth of class time for them to work on it on Friday.

9/18/16 Unit 1 Lesson 1 Day 1

Students had time to finish the test from last week, students who are not finished or weren't here last week need to see me for after school time. We began discussing Costa Rican culture and reading and answering the questions (found after each paragraph on the page) on page 32-33 and turned in the paper in which they recorded their answers.

No Homework other than study/practice vocab words from page 55 of textbooks.

9/8/17 Preliminary Lesson Day 3

We began using the textbook today to review Spanish I material. No new students presented today. Work done today was Activities 3 and 5 in the textbook in the preliminary chapter. No homework was assigned over the weekend.

Recommended work: Study the vocab words from Pg 29 of textbook. Practice using the words by making/speaking in sentences and using flashcards.

9/6/17 Preliminary Lesson Day 1

We started our first day of our first chapter, the Preliminary Lesson. After practicing with different students, everyone settled down with a partner or two partners to interview. Tomorrow, everyone will have some time to work with the same partners and then present their partners to the class.

This will be a 10 point graded assignment. I will look for the following in the grade

  • If grammar errors impede clear understanding
  • A variety of information about the partner was given
  • Answers to questions were given.
Homework:

  • Work on preparing presentation
  • Copy vocabulary list found on page 29 of textbook
  • Get syllabus agreement slip signed
