9/29/17

Finished practice with Direct Object Pronouns (Activities 8 and 9 in textbook). 3rd block began watching the Telehistoria scene. No homework was assigned for the weekend.

9/28/17 Unit Lesson 1 Day 8

There's a google classroom assignment that students started in class today about "Pura Vida". Students also practiced Direct Object Pronouns.

We reviewed direct object pronouns (info found on page 41 of textbook) did activities 6 and 7, and reviewed a song "Pura Vida" for culture activity.

9/26/17 Unit 1 Lesson 1 Day 6

Today we went over notes mirrored on pages 40 and 41 of the textbook on the personal "a" and direct object pronouns. No homework was assigned.

9/25/16 Unit 1 Lesson 1 Day 5

Today students took a vocabulary quiz for the vocab on page 55. We then watched the first episode scene of the Telehistoria and took some notes on the Personal A.

Homework: Students must get their textbooks a textbook cover.

9/20/17 Unit 1 Lesson 1 day 3

We are wrapping up the vocabulary for Lesson 1, we did several speaking activities and discussed the use of the words "Maje" "Tuanis" and "Pura Vida" in Costa Rican conversations. Students were told to finish the google assignment by Midnight Friday, there will be 30 minutes worth of class time for them to work on it on Friday.

Homework: Work on Google Classroom assignment.

9/18/16 Unit 1 Lesson 1 Day 1

Students had time to finish the test from last week, students who are not finished or weren't here last week need to see me for after school time. We began discussing Costa Rican culture and reading and answering the questions (found after each paragraph on the page) on page 32-33 and turned in the paper in which they recorded their answers.

No Homework other than study/practice vocab words from page 55 of textbooks.

9/15/17 Preliminary Lesson Test Day

Today students closed out the first chapter of the book, the Preliminary Lesson, by taking a test on it.

Homework:
Copy vocabulary and grammar from page 55 of textbook.

An email will be sent this weekend regarding students and the textbook website.

9/11/17 Preliminary Lesson Day 4

Reviewed adjective/noun agreement and the use of the verb Tener pages 6-9 of textbook. Work on activity 7 from page 9 of textbook if you didn't finish it in class.

9/8/17 Preliminary Lesson Day 3

We began using the textbook today to review Spanish I material. No new students presented today. Work done today was Activities 3 and 5 in the textbook in the preliminary chapter. No homework was assigned over the weekend.

Recommended work: Study the vocab words from Pg 29 of textbook. Practice using the words by making/speaking in sentences and using flashcards.

9/6/17 Preliminary Lesson Day 1

We started our first day of our first chapter, the Preliminary Lesson. After practicing with different students, everyone settled down with a partner or two partners to interview. Tomorrow, everyone will have some time to work with the same partners and then present their partners to the class.

This will be a 10 point graded assignment. I will look for the following in the grade

  • If grammar errors impede clear understanding
  • A variety of information about the partner was given
  • Answers to questions were given.
Homework:

  • Work on preparing presentation
  • Copy vocabulary list found on page 29 of textbook
  • Get syllabus agreement slip signed
